DFP appreciates UN Rappoteur, HRW for raising concern over HR situation in Kashmir
Islamabad: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has appreciated the United Nations Special Rappoteur on Human Rights and Human Rights Watch, for raising concerns over the worsening
The DFP acting chairman Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement issued here on Sunday the concern voiced by the world bodies lay bare Indian government’s false narrative of normalcy in Kashmir besides highlighting the growing realization of the international community about the dire situation in the region.
He said that Kashmir continues to be the world’s most heavily militarized zones where over a half-million military and paramilitary troops have wreaked havoc on the lives of Kashmiri people who he said were engaged in a legitimate struggle guaranteed to them by the international community. He said that innocent people particularly the youth were being killed on a daily basis by trigger happy Indian forces who operate with impunity in the region.
