Birmingham: 50 years of celebrating community achievements and seasonal celebrations was held at the Dimond Banqueting Suite. Organised by the Sufi trust , Central Funeral Services and Roti Curry Junction. It was hosted by Abid Khan.
The event was a tangible demonstration of community cohesion and interfaith relationships which is clearly visible in the city of Birmingham. The event celebrated the achievements of the Pakistani community living in Birmingham. They have worked hard to build relationships amongst the various communities and institutions.
The Pakistani community has contributed significantly to the social, economic, political and cultural life of the United Kingdom.
The awards were given to the unsung hero’s of the community, The Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Mohammed Afzal, Late Muhammad Ilyas Minas, Hafiz Ahmed Ibrahim Patel, Sardar Muhammad Khattak Deputy Consul of Pakistan, Birmingham, Muhammad Naeem Birmingham Central Masjid, Zaheer Shah PIA, Nazreen, Muhammad Yaqub, Sema Yaqub, Intynan Noor, S M Irfan Tahir Photojournalist, Mateen Sehrai Senior Journalist and Zahid Khattak Journalist.
The young children skilfully demonstrated the confidence to participate in community work and were awarded recognition for their achievements.
