Unity need of the hour to thwart India’s aggressive designs: Saghar
Islamabad: Acting president Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar while stressing the need for a complete unity and concurrence at all levels has termed it as a key to thwart India’s aggressive designs in Kashmir.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Saghar said that the unity of thought, action and approach was highly needed at this crucial phase of movement to take people of Kashmir out of the dark dungeons of despair and despondency. He said that it was high time that all pro-freedom parties should gather under one umbrella under the spirit of oneness to take the mission of martyrs’ to a logical end and to achieve the cherished goal of freedom for which the Kashmiri nation has rendered matchless sacrifices for the past seventy years.
“During his life-long struggle Shah Sahib has worked painstakingly to establish a broad-based unity and concurrence amongst all the political forces within and outside Kashmir to take the ongoing liberation struggle to its logical end”, Saghar said adding that the DFP under the vision of its incarcerated party chairman Shabir Ahmed Shah was ready to play its role in establishing unity among pro-freedom organizations.
Referring to the challenges being faced by the Kashmiris after 5th August 2019 Saghar said that since all the essential fundamental freedoms remain severely restricted, there was no space whatsoever for any political activity. “Even rights activists and journalists who are engage and speak out on human rights and injustices meted out to the people of Kashmir are being barred from reporting by the Indian military and its secret agencies”, he said adding that under the given circumstances the onus of responsibility to galvanize international support to break this forced-silence lies with the Kashmiri diaspora community settled in influential world capitals.
“The Diaspora Community has always played a significant role in sensitizing the world community, however, the situation in the region demands a much pro-active role from the expatriate community to expose Indian brutalities in IoK”, he said.
