The Diabetes Centre Launches “Hospital on Wheels” to Serve Rural Pakistan
Islamabad: The Diabetes Centre has unveiled its latest initiative, “Hospital on Wheels,” a state-of-the-art medical truck designed to bring essential healthcare services to the underserved rural population of Pakistan. With nearly 70% of Pakistanis residing in rural areas, many face significant barriers to accessing healthcare, including a shortage of medical professionals, limited healthcare facilities, and prohibitive treatment costs.
This mobile hospital project aims to address these challenges by providing comprehensive medical care directly to communities in need. Equipped with advanced medical equipment and staffed by experienced healthcare professionals, the “Hospital on Wheels” will offer a range of services, including diabetes management, general health check-ups, and emergency care. Importantly, these services will be provided free of cost to deserving patients, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to essential medical care.
By bridging the gap between rural populations and essential healthcare services, The Diabetes Centre’s initiative promises to improve health outcomes and quality of life for countless individuals across the country.
