Midlands: Multi National Award Winner Mohammed Zafran has become the new Chair of the West Midlands Crimestoppers.
Crimestoppers is an independent organisation who help people to provide anonymous information about criminal activity. During the tough times whilst COVID 19 was upon us, there was a lot of knife crime and criminal activities taking place in Birmingham and other towns regarding the youths, Pride Of Birmingham winner Mohammed Zafran BEM, known as Zaf who has over the last 10 years engaged with over 36,000 youths in the City in various projects and won over 30 National and International Awards was busy engaging with youths in partnership with the West Midlands Police and the Birmingham City Council in doing on line projects which kept a lot of youths busy coming from all different communities.
Zaf, who works as a Community Liaison Officer at South and City College lost his 24 year old brother in law to a brutal murder in 2010 has gone on to become a UK Goodwill Ambassador for Youth and Community and featured in the top 100 Parliament List as the Most Powerful and Influential Muslim alongside James Caan, London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Mohammed Salah and Paul Pogba.
Zaf is currently working with a lot of Mosques in the West Midlands and Youth Hubs to promote equality and diversity and has set up Football Leagues, Cricket Leagues at South and City College and Educational programmes at Sultan Bahu Trust for the deprived community.
Zaf is often the go to man for not just the community but for Businesses and high profile people because of the respect he holds in the community and for his humble approach. Zaf is a National and International Ambassador for various organisations and charities and his passion to help the vulnerable youths has become more evident despite all the fame and success his had come his way.
Ahead of the Football World Cup, Zaf started few projects with youths which promote Kick Out Racism, Equality and respecting officials.
Zaf who won the Sir Bobby Moore Trophy at Wembley Stadium ahead of the Chelsea v Arsenal match has worked with communities who at one point in Birmingham would be bitter rivals and willing to take each other’s lives. Through Sporting Programmes Zaf has bought these communities together who don’t just participate together in sport but actually help each other at charity events.
Zaf, who recently lost his Mother has vowed to do much more humanitarian work which got him the The Top Ten Humanitarian Person in the Globe 3 years ago and has pledged to dedicate all his good work to his Mother. Zaf has been able to change so many vulnerable youths in the past who have become good role models in various communities.
