Himaya Haven Community Interest Company was awarded the West Midlands Combined Authority Mental Health Star Awards
Birmingham: Himaya Haven Community Interest Company was awarded the West Midlands Combined Authority Mental Health Star Awards.
They received the award within the category for business/ public service or voluntary organisations in the WMCA area that has gone above and beyond to support mental health and well-being in the area. 300 nominations were received from across the region for individuals and organisations/services.
Himaya Haven are honoured and privileged to receive this award and recognition for the work that they do. They know that despite mental health being discussed far more openly in the mainstream UK media etc, it’s still a taboo/sensitive topic for many including the families that they support. This mindset can often stop people from seeking support and help.
Himaya Haven works to holistically support them by firstly helping them recognise the importance of their mental health and well-being and then by facilitating the provision of useful resources to assist them.
Himaya Haven would also like to convey how proud they are of their Director, Zobia Hadait, who was shortlisted for the young people’s award and was given a special recognition for going above and beyond to support the mental health and well-being of the community.
